8th Grade Fundraising for
Washington, D.C. Field Trip

The AHMS PTA is here to help 8th Grade students raise the funds needed for their exciting 2020 Washington, D.C. trip! We will be sending information home regarding the year’s various fundraising efforts we are organizing—watch for these bright orange flyers. The Gertrude Hawk fundraiser is starting early in an effort for students to cover their initial field trip payments.

We do have a few guidelines to share:

1) Funds raised are only allowed to aid students’ field trips. (Chaperones are not able to benefit from funds raised through the school.)

2) Gertrude Hawk Candy Bar Fundraiser—students purchase their boxes upfront ($40 each) and keep their profit ($40 each) for their field trip personal payments.

NOTE: The PTA will NOT issue refunds for personal over-payment of the school’s field trip.

Event & Concession Stand Fundraiser

Thank you to all of those that attended, helped, donated and supported our 8th grade CASH Bingo! We had a great event and were so happy to help offset the cost of the 8th grade Washington, D.C. trip! It takes a village to run these events.... and we are so thankful for the hard work of the Event Chairs, Gail Smeraldi & Jenn Bachan-Breiten, the Marketing Chair Melissa Riviere, PTA Board, Volunteers, 8th grade students, and the guests! Without you, it wouldn't have been such a wonderful sold out success!

Concession Stand Fundraiser

Congratulations to all the amazing 8th Grade Parents &
Students that brought in food donations and worked the busy day 
at the Concession Stand on Nov 2, at the MarketPlace! 

It was a great success, and nothing but wonderful things were said of your food,
your service, your smiles, and the fantastic 8th grade servers going from booth to booth taking orders all day.

This first, and main fundraiser of our effort is underway! Students purchase 40-count boxes of premium Gertrude Hawk Chocolate Bars for $40 a box. Students then sell the bars for $2.00 each. That’s a $40 earning per box! Students keep the money earned to make their first payment toward the trip, or to buy another box of chocolate to sell. There is a maximum of 8 boxes allowed per student at $40 (potential profit: $320).

Students/families in financial need and who are unable to pay the $40 upfront, should contact a guidance counselor for additional options for participation. 

NOTE: Candy Bars can not be sold to fellow students in the building during school or on the bus.
